Over the weekend, I had the pleasure of screening the Dare to Dream Project videos for a group of friends. Check it out!

The Official Launch!
Welcome!
Thank you for visiting and learning more about the Dare to Dream Project. It is a historic moment for this particular endeavor and a historic moment for youth media in general.
The Dare to Dream Project was conceived for the purpose of providing youth in communities largely populated by recent and long-term immigrants, with a curriculum centered on media literacy and arts in a project-based learning environment. Emphasizing a hands-on approach to learning, students are led in discussions, shown media, and given projects to work on focused on using media to discuss the topics of immigration and culture.
The 4-month program culminates during New York City's Immigrant Heritage Week, when students from media and arts programs in the 5 boroughs have an opportunity to display and discuss their work during the inaugural Dare to Dream Media and Arts Festival. The event will provide additional youth made media content to an already rich participation of distinguished groups and organizations celebrating immigrant history.
To sign up for our email announcements of the events and locations of the Dare to Dream Media Festival, click here to be added to our list.
If you are a youth artist or educator, please consider submitting a project for the Media and Arts Festival. Click here to receive submission instructions.

The Power to Dream
Dear Readers,
The ability to dream is part of the reality of our existence. Our imagination is central to our discoveries and without it we are just mechanical and non-organic. It is now, at the end of 2007, that I can proclaim that the entire year was nothing but a dream. My deep appreciation for the imagination and my respect for the law of nature (every action causes a reaction), humbles me as I count the blessings of this past year and look forward to the many to come in 2008. The Dare to Dream Project will be the truest proof of our ability to transform dreams into reality.
Please, be inspired to comment on any of the forthcoming posts or to communicate in any way, shape or form you desire. Create a connection with this project and be responsible for it's growth and expansion. Stay tuned for ways you can sponsor the Dare to Dream Media & Arts Festival happening April 14th-20th during the annual Immigrant History Week Celebration.
Many blessings and happy new year!
